Fancy exploring Singapore’s history through art? To celebrate Singapore’s 49th birthday, Da Tang Fine Arts is showcasing artworks by artists expressing their love for our little red dot.
Entitled “Harmonious Home, Peace of Art”, this exhibition displays high quality visual artworks by artists Aw Tee Hong, Choo Keng Kwang, Lisa Ng, Milo Sudaria, Koeh Sia Yong, Low Kim Chit, Low Puay Hua, Wang Fei , Wang Mo Ping, and others.
Each painting tells the story of our pioneers and our little island’s rich heritage.
Discover Singapore’s transformation through these timeless narrative artworks. Revisit the former National Theatre which was demolished in mid-1986, and the railway bridge which ceased operations in 2011.
Disappearing sights like the morning market in Chinatown and a street scene in Hock Lam Street in the 1950s also bring back good old memories and deeply connect visitors with a strong sense of belonging, tinged with nostalgia.
The exhibition is held at 1 North Bridge Road, #B1-09 High Street Centre and 1 Coleman Street, #B1-31 The Adelphi from now till Sept 15, 2014. Opening hours are noon to 7 p.m. (Mon – Fri), and 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. (Sat); the gallery is closed on Sundays. Admission is free.
